Happy New Year! I'm back, and in a big way. After a rough 2018, it is time to expunge the demons of the past while putting them to work in a creative and productive way. To that end, I have released a brand new short story, called "The Last Hand You Shake." Here's the premise: Everybody has a figure that follows them. From the moment they come into being. This figure keeps it's distance, but will gradually come closer until one day it is time to shake hands. And their's will be the last hand you shake. If that entices you, you can find the download link to Smashwords here. It is a "Pay what you want" system, so you pay as much or as little as you want...even free! Enjoy and let me know what you think! Well, hello there stranger. Yes, it's me, PJ. You might be wondering why I've been quiet for so long. Well, it's complicated. And it's not a story that I have the willpower to explain twice. So I will link you to my Patreon post that goes into a bit more detail.
Here's the post. Read it? If so, welcome back. Now then. You might be wondering what this means for this site. Well, rest assured that it's not going anywhere. I do have plans. Indeed, I do have a rather exciting post coming soon, a quite in-depth analysis of one of my favorite video games of recent times. That's all I have right now. The last thing I will say is a huge thank you to my fans who have waited patiently. While I cannot promise anything, I will do everything I can to make your loyalty worthwhile. To the future!
At last!
PJL Books now has a Patreon page where you can support my work. Click here to go there now and get the full details! Put simply, I try to offer as much as I can for free or at the lowest price possible. My job in Tokyo pays the bills. But wouldn't it be nice if I could rely on my writing as a source of income? That way I could give it even more time and offer even more to you, dear readers! And it would help me to increase the quality of my products, too. PJL Books is run by just one person (me!), and that includes looking after the website, the YouTube Channel, the two blogs ('On Writing' and 'A to Z of Japan'), a Twitter and a Facebook Page...all while writing fiction and working 9 to 6. Things can often feel stretched. But if I can rely on my writing for income, I can put money and time back into it and invest in products and software that will ease the bottlenecks and give even better rewards. And you can help support that cause for as little as $1 per month! You will also receive exclsuive rewards and access to PJL Books, so you get back more than you put in! My dream is to be able to wake up in the morning and devote my working days to my writing and my fanbase. Help me to realise that dream by supporting my on Patreon!
